After studying the sun, moon, and stars we had the chance to make our own constellations!
To practice our graphing skills we used jelly beans to help us. First, we sorted them by color. Then, we made tally marks for every jelly bean in each of the colors. Last, we made a bar graph using our tally charts. And then we finally got to eat them!
In honor of Dr. Seuss' book Wacky Wednesday, we got to use shaving cream and use dry erase markers to practice our spelling words!
Our classroom had the opportunity to have "celebrity" readers come in or video chat with our class to help us celebrate reading in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday!
We had a grand ole' time in first grade celebrating being 100 days smarter!
During the month of December, we had a Kindness Elf visit from the North Pole. He taught us how to be kind during the holiday season and he was also a little mischievous.
Our class got to build gingerbread houses with our parents and grandparents. We had to roll two dice to add together to determine how many of each candy we would put on our houses. After we added the dice, we graphed the number. When we finished graphing we went through the candy line and got the supplies to build our houses. We had so much fun adding, graphing, and making our houses!
